What is Bioidentical Hormone Pellet Therapy?

Bioidentical Hormone Pellet Therapy (BHPT) is a form of hormone replacement that uses plant-derived hormones. They chemically identical to the hormones your body naturally makes. These hormones are compressed into small pellets—about the size of a grain of rice—and placed just under the skin, typically in the upper buttock area. Once inserted, the pellets release hormones steadily over time, helping restore balance and reduce symptoms related to hormone deficiency or imbalance. Pellets typically last 3-4 months.

BHPT pellets are most often used in adults experiencing symptoms from hormone imbalances, such as:

In Women

Hormone pellets are not considered first-line therapy for hormone replacement.

$400 (women) and $600 (men) per pellet session with additional consultation and lab fees. (Labs can be run through insurance or discounted cash prices.
Fee includes: Initial consultation, Pellet insertion fee, Lab work (hormone levels), Follow-up visits for monitoring levels.

Most pellet procedures are not covered by insurance, cost is pay out-of-pocket for pellets. However, consultations and lab fees may sometimes be covered depending on your health plan.
